About

For almost 30 years Vicky Bethell has lived at her beloved Bethells Beach (Te Henga), a wild and rugged beach on the west coast of New Zealands North Island. Her landscape paintings and photography reflect her passion for Te Henga.

Since 1999, Vicky has received international commissions for her artwork, particularly horse portraiture.

Enjoying the challenge of representing a horse's individuality in an artistic way, Vicky's strength lies in her ability to capture an accurate likeness.

The depth of feeling and anatomical accuracy depicted in her artwork, are largely due to Vicky's life long involvement with animals and her intrinsic understanding of their nature, expression, communication and movement.
